SAVANNAH, GA (July 7, 2014): The man who died when his boat capsized near Williamson Island in the Wassaw Sound Sunday morning has been identified by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as Paul Moore, 52, of Talahi Island.

DNR rangers are continuing to investigate the accident in which his wife Daphne Moore, 48, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center. Paul Moore was declared dead at the scene when U.S. Coast Guard officers reached the small, open bowed boat.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Islands Precinct officers were called at 9:44 a.m. DNR, Coast Guard, Chatham County coroner and Metro Marine Patrol and Aviation officers responded along with Southside Fire and Southside EMS.
