BOY HURT, HIT/RUN DRIVER SOUGHT

SAVANNAH, GA. (June 25, 2014): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a car that sped away after striking and injuring a pre-teen bicyclist this afternoon.

An 11-year-old boy was transported to Memorial University Medical Center after the 1:30 p.m. incident in the parking lot of Home Depot on East Victory Drive. His injuries were serious but non-life threating.

Islands Precinct and Major Accident Investigation Team officers are searching for a silver Nissan Altima with tinted windows, a Georgia license plate and prior damage to the right side of the rear bumper.

Anyone with information on the car, its location or its driver is asked to contact Metro police or Crimestoppers. Tipsters to Crimestoppers remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward. They can call (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020
