1 DEAD, 1 ‘CRITICAL’ AFTER CRASH

SAVANNAH, GA. (May 11, 2014): Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) officers are investigating a one-car crash that killed a passenger and left the driver in critical condition Sunday morning.

Latroy Adger, 30, of the 2200 block of New Mexico Street, was found dead in the wreckage of a Volvo XC-90 sport utility vehicle at Abercorn and East 49th streets at 2:13 a.m.

The driver, Ricky Adger, 33, was in critical condition at Memorial University Medical Center.

The Volvo was traveling south on Abercorn at a high rate of speed when Ricky Adger lost control. The SUV crossed through the median, taking out shrubs and a metal light pole before crashing into a large tree on the corner of East 49th Street.

The two men were extricated from the wreckage by Savannah Fire and Rescue.
