SAVANNAH, GA. (January 3, 2014): Kay Jewelers today donated some 40 Christmas bears to the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department to help officers while they are dealing with children caught up in unfortunate circumstances.

Officers keep bears and other toys in their patrol cars for those moments when crime strikes and the children are overlooked during the follow up.

This is the second year that Kay donated bears following the Christmas Season. Southside Precinct Commander, Capt. Terry Shoop, received the bears from Kay employees Laine Beasley (left) and Jill Freifield.
