LATE NIGHT WRECK FATAL

SAVANNAH, GA (November 12, 2013): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal vehicle accident on Savannah’s southside Monday night.

At 11:02 p.m., officers responded to the accident scene at Abercorn Extension and Rio Road.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the traffic signal was green as Sara Kendricks, 55, drove westbound at Rio Road. Thirty-year-old Jeanette Scott proceeded to cross Abercorn Extension on foot when she was struck by Kendricks’ Honda CRV.

Scott was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.

SCMPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) continues to investigate
