WOMAN CHARGED IN FALSE REPORT

SAVANNAH, GA. (November 7, 2013): A Savannah woman has been charged with false report of a crime after confessing she lied when she reported a car she was driving was stolen at gunpoint.

Rebekah Emma Mayner, 30, of the 5400 block of Robinson Circle had reported to Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police on Sunday morning that two men had robbed her of $30 and taken a white 2009 Dodge Challenger that belonged to her boyfriend.

She confessed to robbery detectives today that she had fabricated the report.
