Update: CRASH HALTS W. 37TH ST. TRAFFIC

Traffic now is flowing again on West 37th Street after 3 p.m. crash felled utility pole and power lines. SCMPD thanks all for their patience.

SAVANNAH, GA. (October 22, 2013): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have closed West 37th Street to traffic after a two-vehicle crash downed power lines this afternoon.

Traffic is diverted at the 37th Street Connector and Florence Street to allow utility workers to replace a pole and wires that currently are on the ground.

Injuries were minor after a vehicle crossing 37th Street at Harden collided with a vehicle on 37th, causing one vehicle to strike a house just after 3 p.m..

Motorists are advised to seek other routes. Repairs are anticipated by 5 p.m.
