SAVANNAH, GA (April 6, 2013): The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is investigating two traffic accidents overnight in which one man died and two others were seriously injured.

Tory Alexander Williams, 18, of New York, who was attending college in Savannah, died in a 4 a.m. crash today when he lost control of his motorcycle in the 10000 block of Abercorn Street near his apartment.

He was operating a black 2003 Yamaha eastbound on Abercorn at a high rate of speed and lost control while entering a curve. He crashed into a tree located in the median and died instantly.

MAIT also is investigating a three-vehicle crash at 9:43 p.m. Friday in which all three drivers were injured.

Anthony Edenfield, 32, of a Buckhalter Road address, was rushed to surgery at Memorial University Medical Center immediately after being transported from the crash at East Montgomery Crossroads and Gohler Avenue. He had been partially ejected from his vehicle.

He was driving a red Ford Mustang that appears to have been turning around in the left, west bound lane of Montgomery Crossroads when it collided with a 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Donald Williams, 35 of a Northwood Road address. The pickup then collided with a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Patricia Waller, 53, of a New York Avenue address.

Both pickup drivers were transported to Memorial for treatment as well. Williams’ and Edenfield’s injuries were considered serious.

MAIT officers continue to investigate both crashes.
