TRAILER INJURES MOTORCYCLIST

SAVANNAH, GA (March 11, 2013): A Guyton man remains in serious but stable condition after his motorcycle collided with a trailer that had dislodged from a passing vehicle.

Michael Joseph Shikany, 51, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center after the 3 p.m. collision on Delesseps Avenue at the Truman Parkway overpass.

He was riding a blue 2005 Kawasaki Z750S eastbound on Delesseps when the trailer dislodged from a gray 1992 Chevrolet Blazer S-10 driven westbound by Walter Ray Thigpen, 54, of Savannah and rolled into his path. The collision threw him from the motorcycle and onto the roadway.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) continues to investigate.
