Metro police are investigating the shooting of a Savannah woman in front of her apartment house Tuesday night.

Crystal Williams, 31, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of injuries considered not to be life threatening.

Downtown Precinct patrol officers from Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police were in the neighborhood on another call when they heard the shots and found the victim with wounds on the 400 block of West Park Avenue.

They were told a man exited a car, fired at a small group talking in front of the apartment and re-entered the car that drove away about 8:55 p.m.

Violent Crimes detectives from SCMPD continue to investigate the shooting.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). In the body type, include “CStop2020” plus the tip. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
