SCOOTER RIDER HURT IN CRASH

SAVANNAH, GA (December 13, 2012): A 19-year-old Maryland man was listed in stable condition Wednesday night after a motor scooter he was riding collided with an SUV at Bull and Henry streets.

 Tyler Douglas Brewer of Phoenix, MD, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries after the 5:24 p.m. crash.

 He was riding a Vespa scooter south on Bull Street when a Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by Craig Lanard Smith, 38, of Savannah turned left onto Henry Street in front of him. Brewer skidded sideways in an attempt to stop, colliding with the SUV and sliding under it.

 Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) continues to investigate the accident.
