MAN RESCUED FROM DAFFIN PARK POND

SAVANNAH, GA (August 13, 2012) A 36-year-old man remains hospitalized after a Southside Emergency Services EMT found him underwater in the Daffin Park pond Sunday.

Bystanders had failed to locate Raymond Williams of an East 53rd Street address after he had gone into the pond,  submerged, resurfaced in a struggling manner and then submerged again about 6:30 p.m.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police were told he had been fishing in the pond and had entered the water to get a fishing float. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment.
